LATIN EXPRESSIONS

bona fide :: et cetera :: i.e. 'id est' :: per :: via :: vis-a-vis

These phrases are from the 'scandal' lately in the British press surrounding the 'ban' of Latin phrases in some local councils. See the following news reports and blogs:

BBCNews 3 November 2008 'Councils ban use of Latin terms'

Daily Telegraph blogs 3 November 2008 and forward 'Local council cretins ban Latin as 'elitist', pro bono publico'

In the meantime, those of us at Stone Bridge might well give thought to...

what makes us 'nobiles Romani?'

Good Latin, btw, Eric--I mean, The Eric...
